Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD), Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has said that the incumbent government has put the country on the road to progress and development, which is being acknowledged by the international organisations.
Addressing a press conference along with Member of National Assembly (MNA) Daniyal Aziz here on Thursday, Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that the major issues facing the country had been rarely addressed, saying there is a huge difference between Pakistan of 2013 and that of 2017. He said a few years ago, international media was just focussing on Pakistan in view of the terror attacks, but currently the same organisations are talking about "our thriving economy and presenting positive image of the nation, which is the result of the government's efforts."
Responding to a question on up-gradation of 422 educational institutions of the capital, the State minister said he will brief media persons on the plan within next couple of days. The government has in the first phase upgraded 22 schools and colleges with the construction of 70 additional classrooms, seven washrooms and new blocks, he added.
He said the incidents of terrorism have been significantly reduced. He said power loadshedding has also been reduced, adding these issues will be completely overcome during the tenure of the present government. He said the country's economy has improved, adding Pakistan is going to emerge as Asian tiger in coming years.
Speaking on the occasion, MNA Daniyal Aziz said that some elements are trying to present negative image of the country on media, but they will not succeed in their nefarious designs. He said those who are engaged in levelling baseless allegations against others are also under trail today. He said that the top leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) including Imran Khan, Jehangir Khan Tareen and others are facing references in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) as well as in Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Aziz said that Chairman PTI Imran Khan is making tall claims in public, while whenever the court asks him to give the money trail in the foreign funding case, which has been filed against him by the PTI founding member Akbar S Babar, he starts challenging jurisdiction of the ECP and the Supreme Court. "We are providing all the record to the Supreme Court and will not let Khan run away from the proceedings," he said, adding Imran and his close aide Tareen will have to provide the evidence in the ECP.
