It is gratifying to see the outstanding result of the efforts put in by FFBL and FPCL project teams. This accomplishment stands as a testament to what can be achieved through visionary leadership, committed management and a devoted workforce.
Management of Fauji Fertilizer Bin Qasim Limited (FFBL) envisioned setting up Coal Power Plant back in year 2012 due to the ongoing energy crisis faced by the Country. Equipped with our unwavering determination and firm commitment, we embarked upon the journey of constructing this Coal Power Plant needed a premier initiative in the fertilizer sector. The project team successfully completed the conceptual, front-end engineering and construction phases of the project in record time, which considering the size of project, is a marvellous achievement.
Fauji Fertilizer Bin Qasim Limited (FFBL) is committed to explore and invest in other areas of business including power generation. This Coal Power Plant is another stepping stone in Fauji Group's proud history and no doubt will contribute in Country's economic development.
The 118 MW Power plant is designed to use both imported and indigenous coal due to its flexible technology. The project was first in achieving financial close through consortium of local banks in the year 2015 with a blend of Islamic and conventional financing modes.
I would like to appreciate the contributions made by Fauji group especially CE&MD FFBL, Board of Directors and local financial institutions in making the project a success.
At the same time, I must applaud the efforts of the project team for timely completion of the challenging task within budget. Construction of this power plant demonstrates the tireless efforts put up by our engineers, construction team and supporting departments.
