Tariq Bajwa, a BS-22 officer of Secretariat Group, has been made new Secretary Finance after the retirement of Dr Waqar Masood. According to a Cabinet Division notification issued on Friday, Tariq Bajwa who was working as Secretary Economic Affairs Division has been made Secretary Finance with immediate effect till further orders. Tariq Bajwa's retirement date is said to be June 18, 2017.
Dr Shujat Ali, Additional Secretary in Finance Division, was given the acting charge of Secretary Finance on January 21 after the retirement of Dr Waqar Masood. Shujat, a BS-21 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service, has been posted as additional secretary in Finance Division since April 2014.
