Senator Aitzaz Ahsan said on Tuesday that those who believe that Panama case is being decided in favour of the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif are living in fools' paradise. He said the PML-N has been advocating from day one that London flats belong to Hussain Nawaz and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is merely holding an office.
He asked who would be responsible in case three houses are unearthed in the name of a son of a DIG or civil servant: father or the son. He said the onus of proof rests with the Sharif family after an admission on the part of prime minister and Hussain Nawaz. They would have to prove that the resources for buying the London flats were legal, he added.
They have taken a stance in the court that they have neither a bank account nor relevant record. "Whether the money was transferred in bags and buried in earth there?" he asked. He said the Sharif family should admit that the London flats were bought from the kickbacks of Motorway, LNG and Orange Line project.
"They are adamant to stress that we should accept their stance after the arrival of a letter from Qatari prince," he added.
