Finance Minister chaired a meeting on National Savings here at the Ministry of Finance Sunday. Director General National Savings, Zafar Masud, briefed the Finance Minister on initiatives undertaken by National Savings regarding improvement in customer services, development of new products, human resource management, organisation's brand activation, and strategic improvements in the organisation.
He apprised the Minister that new products like Registered Prize Bonds are being planned for roll-out, based on the feedback and demand of investors. He said that National Savings has secured the Automated Clearinghouse Membership, and has established a Complaint Resolution Cell. The Finance Minister was also updated on the financial inclusion products and projects under discussion with the World Bank.
Finance Minister appreciated the efforts of National Savings. He said that the Automated Clearinghouse Membership has resulted in an improved customer experience for investors, especially senior and retired citizens, who can now draw their profits directly from their accounts, located anywhere in Pakistan. He encouraged National Savings to carry out further measures for improvement of Customer Service in the organisation.
Finance Minister advised the organisation to introduce alternate delivery channels to enhance customer outreach, and focus on capacity building of the staff members. He said that initiatives taken by the organisation to promote financial inclusion are a step in the right direction. -PR
