Zubair Tufail, President Federation Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), has announced to appoint Waheed Ahmed as Chairman of FPCCI standing committee on 'Fruit and Vegetable Exports and Imports' for the year 2017. Waheed Ahmed is also patron in chief of Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association and has years-long experience in the field of horticulture exports.
FPCCI has authorized him for selection and appointment of experienced persons (at least eight) throughout the country as members of the side committee from relevant field and sector, who can contribute effectively.
Waheed has thanked Zubair Tufail, S. M. Muneer and other FPCCI leadership for his appointment as chairman standing committee of Fruit and Vegetable Exports and Imports and assured that he would make all efforts to boost fruit and vegetable exports.
Meanwhile, on behalf of PFVA he has appreciated decision of FPCCI that limits the powers of notification of appointing heads of standing committees only by president and senior vice president of the apex body. As per FPCCI decision, sectoral standing committees will now be notified with the consultation and nomination of relevant trade bodies and all the committees will be headed by the experienced and able members of business community, he added.
Waheed said that the decision would help strengthen FPCCI role in promoting economy and address the issues of business community more effectively.
