FPCCI's newly-elected president Zubair Tufail on Wednesday consented to All Pakistan Customs Agents Association (APCAA) for granting chairmanship of customs committee of federation in order to address customs related trade issues in an effective manner. The decision was made at a meeting with APCAA representatives, who called on his office to felicitate him for the success in FPCCI elections 2017.
Arshad Jamal, senior vice chairman APCAA and head of the delegation during meeting said that association had given unconditional support to UBG in the elections, due to the efforts of its elected representatives made during last tenure. Arshad further said that APCAA could not only serve more for the trade but could also resolve long-standing issues of customs agents especially licensing issue under the umbrella of FPCCI.
He requested the president Zubair Tufail to grant APCAA representation in FPCCI's committee on customs affairs along with the committee related to customs agents as it would enable the association to address small traders' issues in more effective manner.
Meanwhile, FPCCI president Zubair Tufail while expressing gratitude to APCAA for its all out support with UBG termed the customs agents committee headed by APCAA as one of the most active committees in 2016. During meeting, Zubair has not only accepted the request of APCAA but also asked them to send nominations for the committee on customs affairs.
He further said that FPCCI would not only consider APCAA representation in aforesaid two committees but would also manage to give them a role in other relevant committees. He also assured the APCAA that no individual would be granted any position in any committee sans association's membership and its recommendation letter.
