Inspector General of Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Nasir Durrani on Saturday claimed that Daesh (ISIS) has no permanent presence in the province, adding that militants of other banned groups were using the name of Daesh for their activities. According to IGP, the militants of other banned groups were using Daesh name for their activities in the province, adding that counter terrorism department (CTD) had arrested many such militants of the Daesh.
The police chief claimed that the CTD had arrested over 1,200 terrorists, saying that 120 of the arrested militants had head money. He also claimed that the terror attacks had been decreased in the province as compared to previous years. He said that 485 terror attacks had occurred in 2014, which decreased to 207 in 2015 and now only 190 terror attacks occurred in 2016.
