Guard Group/Newage and Barry's qualified for the main final of the Lieutenant General Shah Rafi Alam Memorial Polo Cup 2016 here at the Lahore Polo Club (LPC) ground on Friday. In the first match of the day, although Allied Bank outran Guard Group/Newage by 8-5, yet the latter qualified for the main final on better goal average. In all, Guard Group had scored 15 goals while Allied Bank had total 11 goals, which powered the former into the main final and latter into the subsidiary final.
Saqib Khan Khakwani and Omer Asjad Malhi played heroic roles to guide Allied Bank to victory. Both Saqib and Omer pumped in tremendous three goals each while Naveed Sheikh added two. From Guard Group, Taimur Ali Malik and Hissam Ali Hyder converted two goals each while Alman Jalil Azam hit one.
