Rapid industrialisation: government committed to industrial progress: minister
Federal Minister for Science, Technology and Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain said the government was determined to encourage and facilitate rapid industrialisation in Pakistan and it had already announced several incentives to attract foreign investment in industrial sector of the country.
The minister was addressing the two-day International Conference on Advanced Materials and Emerging Technologies 2016 (ICAMET 2016) organised by the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering , University of Engineering and Technology Lahore (UET), in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited and Punjab University.
He said increased automation and sophistication in technology had revolutionised the global industry. The government was working day and night to end energy crisis in the country and several energy projects were underway and some were near completion. Vice Chancellor UET Professor Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid said that material sciences and engineering played a pivotal role in bringing about transformation in society because engineering started with material.
