The United States has stated that it has not changed its foreign policy regarding Pakistan. Briefing the media in Washington, US State Department Spokesman John Kirby said that, "The bilateral ties between the United States and Pakistan are normal." He added that, "Changes are being brought to the US State Department." "300 to 400 officials will be working in the State Department in the Trump administration," he said.
It should be noted that the US State Department spokesperson had said that, "The White House would continue to work with Pakistan on issues that matter the most for a peaceful world." United States had also urged Pakistan and India to improve their bilateral ties as well.
