PML-N stalwart and Advisor to Prime Minister Amir Muqaam has accused the PTI chief Imran Khan for misusing the mandate of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and asked him to either play role in Parliament or tender resignation. While addressing a press conference here at Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday, he said that 90 percent of the mandate of PTI is given by the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but, it is not representing them on the national issues.
On this occasion, he was also flanked by former provincial PML-N secretary general, Rahmat Salam Khattak, Secretary Information, Nasir Khan Musazai and a large number of other party workers. The Advisor to Prime Minister said that federal government is respecting the mandate of the PTI, but it is misusing it against the interest of the people of the province.
He said that if the PTI chief is terming the Parliament as bogus and not playing their due role, they why they are not tendering resignation to hold by-elections on their seats. He said that despite not attending the Parliament proceedings, PTI legislators are collecting their salaries and other perks and privileges. Amir Muqaam said that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa welcome Turkish President, Recep Tayyib Erdogan to Pakistan as the people of both countries have extended support to each other in every critical juncture.
In response to a question, the Advisor to Prime Minister said that work on Dasu and Basha-Diameer Dams was in full swing. The completion of the projects will generate several thousand megawatt electricity. Similarly, he said that work on Golen Gol Hydel project in Chitral is also in progress. Regarding Munda Dam, he said work on this multi-purpose dam will also be started and in case of no donor, it will be constructed through own resources.
