Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif presided over a high-level meeting, here on Tuesday which reviewed pace of progress of ongoing development programmes for welfare of people of the province. Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister said that under Annual Development Program, various public welfare schemes are being forwarded successfully throughout the province.
He said a large number of people are benefiting from welfare programs of billions of rupees. He said that more than 1.50,000 talented girls and boys of resource-less families are studying through Punjab Educational Endowment Fund. Free quality health facilities have been made available to the children of poor families through Daanish School System, he added. Shehbaz Sharif said that a number of projects have been completed to provide quality health facilities to the people.
He said resources are a trust of the nation and are being spent transparently on providing best facilities to the masses. He said interest free loans of billions of rupees have been provided to the youth so far under self-employment scheme. He said improving living standard of the people of province is their mission and mega projects have been completed for the progress of the province under a development strategy. The process of provision of best facilities to the people will be continued in future as well, he added. Provincial Ministers Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, Chaudhry Muhammad Shafique, Chief Secretary, Chairman Planning & Development and concerned officials were also present on the occasion.
