Pakistan finally tasted their first international victory after 44 years in international football as they went on to beat Nepal 2-1 on Sunday.

The Men in Green did not have an ideal start as Shahbaz Younas netted the ball in their own goal in just the 12th minute of the game.

However, Pakistan overall looked a much improved team and the game remained in balance for the majority of 90 minutes.

It took 42 minutes for Pakistan to score an equalizer, when Mohammad Bilal beat Nepalese defense with a header in the 54th minute. It was Pakistan’s first goal after Asian Games 2010.

Pakistan were awarded a penalty in 72nd minute for a handball, which was successfully converted into a goal by their skipper, Saddam Hussain.

The goal from Pakistan captain sealed the game and gave Pakistan their first win in the Asian Games after 1974.
