After a week, Khawaja Haris lead counsel of deposed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, rejoined his legal team on Tuesday for the corruption references filed by the National Accountability Bureau against the Sharif family.

According to local media reports, Haris appeared in the accountability court today and withdrew his decision to recusing himself from representing Sharif. This decision of Haris was welcomed by accountability Judge Mohammad Bashir.

Haris in an application also expressed his reservations before the accountability court judge on Supreme Court's (SC) order. He said the case was a complicated one and required a lot of time to read pages and prepare arguments and it was impossible if hearings were scheduled on Saturdays as per SC's orders.

The accountability court had been ordered by the SC to wrap up all three corruption references against the Sharif family within a month. The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar observed that the accountability court take up trials on weekends as well in order to reach the deadline.
Following Haris's withdrawal, on June 12, Judge Bashir had given Sharif a week's time to either hire a new counsel or convince Haris to rejoin the legal team.
