Pakistan’s number one spot in danger

Published June 8, 2018 Updated June 8, 2018 06:18am

Fixers approach Pakistan cricketers again! | Brecorder.comPakistan may lose its top spot at the T20I Rankings if the Green Shirts lose the two-match T20I series against Scotland to be played next week.

Pakistan sits at the top spot in T20I Rankings with 130 points. In case of winning the series 2-0, it will maintain its spot with an addition of one point. Meanwhile, in case of a leveled series 1-1, Pakistan would maintain the spot but with the loss of three points, leaving Pakistan only a point shy from Australia.

However, in an unlikely scenario, if Pakistan loses the series 0-2, the Men in Green would lose their spot and will be dragged to third spot just below India with 123 points.

Earlier, Pakistan announced the T20I squad, retaining similar squad that played against West Indies, other than Babar Azam who got injured during the first Test match against England at Lord’s.

The two-match T-20I series will be played on June 12 and 13, respectively. Babar has been replaced by Haris Sohail in the 15-member squad for Scotland series.

T20I Squad: Fakhar Zaman, Ahmed Shehzad, Haris Sohail, Shoaib Malik, Asif Ali, Hussain Talat, Sarfraz Ahmed (Captain) (WK), Fahim Ashraf, Shadab Khan, Muhammad Nawaz, Muhammad Amir, Hassan Ali, Rahat Ali, Usman Shanwari, Shaheen Shah Afridi.
