ECP takes steps to conduct free, fair general election

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Spokesman Altaf Ahmed Khan says all necessary measures have been taken to conduct free and fair general election in the country.

Talking to a private news channel, he said ECP was already making preparations for the election even before the announcement of its date, so it is facing no difficulty in the performance of its duty.

To a question, Altaf Hussain said, after decision of the Supreme Court, the candidates have to submit an affidavit containing personal information along with nomination papers before their respective returning officers.

He said the decision of the apex court, however, will not cause any delay in holding elections on time.
