PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engineer Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said that free, fair and transparent elections were prerequisite for promotion of democracy in the country.
The Governor was talking to caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Justice (Retd), Dost Muhammad Khan who called on him here at Governor’s House after taking oath of his office.
The Governor said all requisites including provision of complete security and peace will be ensured during the upcoming general elections.
The Governor on this occasion congratulated Justice Dost Muhammad Khan over his new responsibility and expressed his best wishes for him.
The Governor also expressed the hope that the caretaker provincial government will fulfill its obligations with regard to free and fair elections and other affairs of the province with the utmost of their abilities.
Both the leaders also discussed different matters of mutual interest.
