ECP to hold free, fair elections in country: Qayyum

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Lt. Gen (Retd) Abdul Qayyum Tuesday expressed hope that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) would hold the upcoming general election in free, fair and transparent manners.
All political parties would accept the result of the general election as they had shown maturity on evolving consensus on an appointment of Caretaker Prime Minister Nasirul Mulk, he said talking to PTV.
He said PML-N had launched number of welfare projects including China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and we would run the elections campaign and compete with other political parties on basis of such performance and prudent policies.
He expressed hope that PML-N would win the general election with thumping majority.
Abdul Qayyum said it was responsibility of interim set-up to run the state in right direction to achieve more development milestone.
To a query, he said accountability should be held across the board against corrupt elements.
