KARACHI: Sindh Inspector General of Police A.D. Khwaja has directed the police officers to ensure fool-proof security to all mosques, imambargahs and other open places of worship especially on Youm-e-Ali, Jumat-ul-Wida and Shab-i-Qader.
The IGP, while chairing a meeting to review the police strategy to maintain law and order here on Tuesday, ordered for enhanced patrolling and snap checking in the city. The police officials should join Rangers in snap checking, said official statement.
He asked all Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) to guarantee their presence at the main markets from 9:00 P.M. till their closure. Also keep close liaison with the representatives of the markets associations/committees.
He also ordered the police offices to take more practical steps to contain street crimes particularly in Karachi.
