SIALKOT: Commissioner Gujranwala Division, Capt (R) Muhammad Asif has said that the government was making all-out efforts for the modernization of the agriculture sector and betterment of the growers.
He stated this while addressing a meeting of the growers, farmers and agricultural department officials held here Friday. Commissioner said that the government was also distributing farm machinery among the growers and farmers for getting maximum per acre yields of the vegetables.
Commissioner revealed that the agriculture sector was back bone the national economy and the government was making strenuous efforts to modernize this sector.
Commissioner also gave first prize of a land leveler machine to a Sambrial based farmer Mohsin Javaid Malhi who clinched first position in Sialkot district while growing the maximum crops of the potatoes by utilizing advance farm machinery and techniques.
