Two days before Earth Day, Apple has launched a new robot that will recycle all the older iPhones.

The new robot by Apple named Daisy can break down iPhones and recover the materials inside. Daisy itself is a recycled robot made from few older parts of Apple’s 2016 released robot Liam.

As per The Verge, the robot can recycle nine various versions of the iPhone and can also disassemble up to 200 iPhones per hour. Daisy is also capable of separating parts of the phone along with removing certain components and sorting the reusable ones in the process.

Apple goes 100pc green with the aim to save Earth

Apart from Daisy, Apple introduced a temporary program as well that it calls ‘GiveBack’. The program lets customers turn-in or trade their devices in store or through Apple.com for recycling. From every device received from now till April 30, the smartphone manufacturer will make a donation to the non-profit environmental organization, ‘Conservation International’.

Also, for the Earth Day, Apple has decided to hold a new Apple Watch challenge that will encourage people to go out on the day and enjoy the planet. Just recently, Apple announced its accomplishment of its goal of being powered by 100% renewable energy globally, reported Tech Crunch.
