CJP gives a week's time to clear KP of quack doctors

Giving a week's time to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the Chief Justice of Pakistan has ordered the relevant authorities to shut down all the clinics and other similar operations run by quack doctors.

During Friday's hearing regarding a case against quack doctors in the Supreme Court, the Chief Justice Saqib Nisar was informed that there are as many as 15,000 quacks in KP.

The CJP came down hard on the head of the healthcare commission Azar Sardar and said that in view of the head's salary his outcome was zero, local media reported

However, Salahuddin Mehsud, the inspector general of police for KP, was praised by the CJP as he had withdrawn personal security granted to unrelated persons within one day on CJP's orders. Mehsud informed the judge that security of 1,769 unrelated person has been withdrawn.

Justice Nisar is on a two-day official visit to Peshawar and has been hearing several cases at the Peshawar registry. The CJP expressed his displeasure over the condition of the province especially in social sector which included health, provision of potable and water education.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Twitter welcomed the remarks made by the CJP related to the sewerage problem in Peshawar and said that they were trying to 'take corrective measure'.
