Over 34 tech giants unite to fight cyberattacks

Cyberattacks are a growing issue and all the major tech companies including Microsoft, Facebook are now signing an accord to unite against these cyberattacks.

A group of 34 tech giants have united together to sign the ‘Cybersecurity Tech Accord’, which is an agreement that promises to defend customers from across the world against cyberattacks in spite of where they take place or who is the person behind it.

By signing the agreement, all of the tech giants have pledged to boost defenses for customers and users’ capacity to defend themselves, refuse to assist governments in launching cyberattacks and to establish more partnerships to share threat and vulnerabilities.

As per The New York Times, companies signing the pact include Dell, Microsoft, Facebook, Nokia and HP. Security firms such as Avast, Symantec and FireEye and few telecom giants are also among the firms signing the pact. However, few major organizations such as Twitter, Apple, Amazon and Google have not yet signed up for it.

Other companies can join in too but, they have to be ‘trusted’, ‘high cybersecurity standards’ and to ‘adhere unreservedly’ to the Accord as soon as they sign up for it. “Everyone deserves protection,” read the agreement, as per Engadget.
