SC orders exhumation, fresh post-mortem of minor girl in Faisalabad

The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar has ordered the authorities to exhume the body of seven- year-old girl Mubashiram, who was found raped and murdered in Jaranwala, Faisalabad.
Conducting the suo motu hearing today, the CJP ordered the medical superintendent of Allied Hospital in Faisalabad to perform post-mortem on the body again, local media reported.
The Supreme Court also ordered to be presented in the next hearing with the forensic report of the deceased’s samples, along with a report regarding investigation into the rape and murder of Mubashira.
Mubshira went missing on April 1 in the afternoon and when she did not return, her family and relatives started searching for her. Her body was later recovered from a field. Post-mortem report had revealed that Mubashira was sexually abused and was strangled. Her body bore torture marks.
Protest had started in Faisalabad as protesters took to the streets demanding the immediate arrest of the murderer The CJP had taken a suo motu notice on April 4 and had ordered Punjab inspector general of police to submit a report regarding the rape and murder of the girl.
