Pakistan Super League (PSL) may not have yet gotten its latest champion, but it has produced stars for the future and Shaheen Shah Afridi is one of them.
The lanky speedster has managed to impress Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur who compared Afridi with Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc. Praising Afridi, the head coach said the youngster can emerge as an exceptional bowler after a couple of years of hard work.
“Afridi is massively talented. I think he is going to be a very good bowler and I think he is a guy we need to get into our emerging systems, so that we can work really hard with him. If we can put a couple of years into him he is going to be very exceptional,” said Arthur at the post match conference.
"I had the privilege of seeing Mitchell Starc when he was very young and there is a very close resemblance between the two of them. Shaheen just needs the right guidance and training and he's going to be a star," he added.
Afridi representing the Lahore Qalandars franchise, picking up seven wickets in seven matches, including a sensational five wicket haul for four runs against Multan Sultans.
