Ulema agree on uniform prayer timings draft Bill

ISLAMABAD: Ulema, Mashaikh of all schools of thought Tuesday unanimously adopted a draft Bill of introducing uniform prayer timings in all mosques in federal capital.

The meeting of Nizam-e-Salat Committee was chaired by Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf. The draft Bill contains introducing uniform timings of offering prayers and Azaan at various mosques.

The meeting was attended by Nizam-e-Salat committee, Ulema of all school of thought Ulema, State Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Pir Amin-ul-Hasnaat Shah, Secretary Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Khalid Masood Chaudhry and high ranking officials of the ministry.

The draft Bill was improved further in consultation with Ulema.

Sardar Muhammad Yousaf felicitated Ulema for evolving consensus on the draft law. Other relevant departments would be consulted to improve the draft law further.
