Viv Richards arrives in Lahore with wife, says Pakistan is safe for cricket

Sir Vivian Richards, one of the greatest batsmen in cricketing history, has stated that Pakistan is a safe place for cricket, as he arrived in Lahore along with his wife for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) playoffs.
“It is great to be here again in Lahore, I hope that we will be a little bit more successful than the last time out. It’s great to see everyone and a great place to be, especially with my wife Michelle and myself. As you can see, I have brought Michelle with me, so it indicates it is a safe place,” said the Quetta Gladiators mentor, while talking to media.
A number of foreign players, including Kevin Pietersen, Shane Watson and Eoin Morgan, opted out of PSL, as they didn’t want to visit Pakistan citing security concerns.
Earlier, the Gladiators skipper Sarfraz Ahmed expressed disappointment over the departure of foreign players.
“It is not fair on part of such foreign players to back out of their commitment at the last minute, as they were ready to come to Pakistan”, Sarfraz said at a press conference on Monday evening, a day before the team’s match against Peshawar Zalmi at Gadaffi Stadium.
