GILGIT: The Giligt-Baltistan (GB) government has decided to regularize services of the teachers of Social Action Programme (SAP) school in phases.

Talking to a delegation of SAP teachers in meeting, the Chief Minister (CM) GB Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman said that a meeting was being convened this week to regularize services of those teachers who had long been struggling for their due rights.

He said the merit would be ensured throughout the recruitment process in order to promote quality education and gear up the students for the contemporary and future challenges.

He directed the education department to prepare Terms of Reference (ToRs) in this regard.       He said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)-led government put the country on path of development and undertook development project all across the country including from Khunjarab to Gwdar.

He said the government ensured merit and transparency in all projects besides ensuring good governance in the area.

He said the past government promoted nepotism and corruption instead of resolving people's problems adding that in education sector which was considered as backbone, corruption was rife there in recruitment of teachers.

He said if the teachers had any complaint of corruption with regard to regularization of their jobs, they may covey them for action against those who were found involved in such malpractices.

He said they could also convey such complaints on phone nos of the Chief Minister secretariat. The CM said that no action was taken for resolving problems of SAFE schools for the last 20 years as the past government paid no heed to development of GB and did not produce a single kilowatt of electricity.

The delegation expressed their full support in promoting quality education for achieving socio-economic development of the area.
