KARACHI: Pakistan Railways has drawn up plans to upgrade Drigh Road Railway Station with modern passenger facilities, including improved parking, booking and reservation offices, and waiting areas, as part of efforts to modernise railway infrastructure in Karachi.

Divisional Superintendent Pakistan Railways Karachi, Jamshed Alam, accompanied by divisional officers, visited Drigh Road Station to review its existing infrastructure, passenger facilities and operational arrangements and assess the proposed modernisation plan.

During the visit, the DS Karachi reviewed the proposed design for the station’s renovation and modernisation.

He directed the concerned officials to finalise the necessary arrangements and take steps to implement the proposed improvements at the earliest.

The DS and accompanying officers also inspected railway points and level crossings in and around the station, reviewing operational difficulties and infrastructure-related issues. Discussions were held with relevant officials on measures to remove bottlenecks and ensure safer, smoother and uninterrupted train operations.
