ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has further intensified its nationwide field monitoring efforts, inspecting 184 mobile sites from 22nd to 28th October, 2026, bringing the cumulative number of monitored sites to over 900.

The inspections covered Nankana Sahib, Rahim Yar Khan, Quetta, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Swat, Mirpur, Kotli, Gilgit, Torghar, South Karachi, Shaheed Benazirabad, and rural areas of Arifwala. The exercise was undertaken in coordination with district administrations, elected representatives, local stakeholders and telecom operators to identify service-related deficiencies and facilitate their timely resolution.

Key findings included power supply and backup redundancy issues, equipment deficiencies, battery and generator faults, fibre-optic cable safety concerns, and other administrative and infrastructure-related shortcomings.

Through sustained field oversight and coordinated engagement with relevant stakeholders, PTA is pursuing corrective measures to address identified gaps and enhance the reliability, resilience and quality of telecom services across the country.
