KARACHI: The Businessmen Group swept the Karachi Wholesale Grocers Association (KWGA) elections unopposed, with Faisal Anis Majeed taking the oath as Chairman for the 2026-28 term.

The newly elected office-bearers included Salman Ahmed Shaikh, Senior Vice Chairman; Abdul Hannan Farooqui, Vice Chairman; Farhat Siddiq, General Secretary; Muhammad Ashraf, Joint Secretary; and Khurram Chhola, Finance Secretary.

The managing committee members are Muhammad Zubair, Ali Ahmed Chohan, Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Mustafa Bawani, Muzammil Iqbal, Muhammad Shahid, Muhammad Zeeshan, Aqeel Bawani and Sunil Kumar.

Leading traders attended the event, including former REAP chairman Rafique Suleman, current REAP Chief Raza Amjad, and Hyderabad Dal Millers Association Chairman Salauddin, along with a large number of KWGA members.

In his address, Faisal Anis Majeed thanked members for their trust and paid tribute to his late father Anis Majeed, who served as KWGA chairman for 38 years. He pledged to carry forward that legacy and said an advisory committee of senior mentors would be formed to guide the new team.

“We will work in unity and consultation with all members to tackle the challenges facing the wholesale grocery trade,” he said, adding that the association would continue constructive engagement with the government and other trade bodies.
