Air Link Communication Limited plans to launch its electric bike brand, Air EV, on November 4, with deliveries expected to begin within about a week, as the company seeks to expand into Pakistan’s electric mobility market and gradually increase local manufacturing.

The company disclosed the development during its annual general meeting attended by Arif Habib Limited in its report on Tuesday.

“Airlink plans to launch its electric bike brand, Air EV, on 4 November 2026, with deliveries expected to begin within approximately a week. The bikes will use replaceable lithium-ion batteries, with management targeting up to 95% local manufacturing over time,” read the report.

The move marks Airlink’s expansion beyond its core mobile phone business into electric two-wheelers, as it explores new avenues for growth.

As per the report, Airlink’s management plans to initially source electric bikes from international partners offering competitive pricing before gradually shifting to local assembly and manufacturing.

“Lithium-ion batteries will initially be procured locally, with the company targeting up to 95% localisation over time,” said AHL.

Airlink is also seeking to expand sales of consumer appliances and has established Airfin to provide buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) financing for smartphones, televisions, air conditioners and electric bikes.

“Management sees significant untapped potential in Pakistan’s BNPL market and expects the initiative to support net margins and offset pressure from slower mobile phone sales. Management believes BNPL can make new smartphones more affordable through monthly instalments and help Airlink compete with the used-phone market.”

Airlink expects air conditioner sales to reach 65,000 units in 2027 and 95,000 in 2028. Television sales are projected at 50,000 units in 2027 and 65,000 in 2028, according to the research note.

Airlink Communication Limited was incorporated in Pakistan as a private limited company in January 2014 and subsequently converted into a public limited company in April 2019.

The company is engaged in the import, export, distribution, indenting, wholesale, and retail of communication and IT-related products and services, including smartphones, cellular phones, tablets, laptop accessories, and related products.

Earlier in July, Airlink announced the establishment of an electric bike manufacturing plant under its own brand AirV.
