  • Security sources say the killed commander was involved in attacks on security forces, kidnapping for ransom and extortion
Published Updated

Security forces killed a terrorist commander affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij during an intelligence-based operation in Qila Saifullah, Balochistan, Aaj News reported, citing security sources.

The commander, identified as Adil Shah alias Darwish, was involved in attacks on security forces, kidnapping for ransom and extortion, according to the sources.

He had also facilitated the long-term settlement of non-local terrorists in Zhob, Sherani and Shaban, the sources said, adding that he had been involved in attacks on security forces and extortion for ransom since 2022 and 2023.

Adil Shah had been associated with Fitna al-Khawarij since December 2020 and was also responsible for managing the group’s financial affairs, according to security sources.

Nineteen cases had been registered against him, while a bounty of Rs2.5 million had been placed on his head, the sources added.

Security forces are continuing operations under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3 in Balochistan, with sources saying the campaign would continue until the last terrorist was eliminated.
