ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Friday appealed to voters in Muzaffarabad Division and the Kashmir Valley to support the party in the upcoming elections, emphasising public rights, employment, and local decision-making.

In a special video message addressed to the people of Muzaffarabad, Bilawal praised the large turnout at the party’s recent public gathering despite heavy rainfall. He commended participants for their determination and enthusiasm, saying their response had sent a strong message across Kashmir that the people of Muzaffarabad were prepared to stand up for their rights.

Urging voters to maintain the same spirit on August 2, Bilawal called on them to vote for the PPP by stamping the party’s election symbol, the arrow. He said their vote would support the causes of the right to self-governance, the right to ownership, and the right to employment, adding that “the future of Kashmir should be decided by the people of Kashmir.”

In a separate video message focusing on the Kashmir Valley, the PPP chairman reiterated his vision of transforming the region into what he described as “Jannat-e-Benazir” (Paradise of Benazir). He said the phrase represented more than a political slogan, describing it as a vision of a peaceful, just, and prosperous Kashmir.

Bilawal said his vision included ensuring that the people of Kashmir have the first claim over the region’s natural resources, creating employment opportunities for every young person, and empowering Kashmiris to determine their own future. He added that this vision was based on three key principles: the right to self-governance, the right to ownership, and the right to employment.

Concluding his appeal, Bilawal once again urged voters to support the PPP by voting for the party’s arrow symbol on August 2, saying it would help realise his vision for the Kashmir Valley.
