LAHORE: The rate of cotton in the local cotton market remained unchanged on Thursday.
Cotton Analyst Naseem Usman told Business Recorder that the local cotton market remained firm and the trading volume remained satisfactory.
He also told that the rate of cotton in Sindh is in between Rs 17,700 to Rs 17,900 per maund, while Phutti in the province is trading between Rs 8,500 to Rs 8,800 per 40 kilograms. In Punjab, cotton rates stand between Rs 18,200 to Rs 18,400 per maund, with Phutti fetching between Rs 8.800 to Rs 9,200 per 40 kilograms.
The rate of cotton in Balochistan is in between Rs 17,700 to Rs 18,000 per maund while the rate of Phutti is in between Rs 8,800 to Rs 9,200 per maund.
2000 bales of Tando Adam, 2000 bales of Sanghar, 1600 bales of Shahdad Pur were sold in between Rs 17,700 to Rs 17,800 per maund, 400 bales of Shah Pur Chakkar, 400 bales of Nauabad were sold at Rs 17,700 per maund, 200 bales of Nawab Shah were sold at Rs 17,600 per maund, 800 bales of Dera Ghazi Khan were sold in between Rs 18,500 to Rs 18,700 per maund, 800 bales of Chichawatni were sold in between Rs 18,200 to Rs 18,350 per maund, 600 bales of Vehari were sold in between Rs 18,200 to Rs 18,300 per maund, 600 bales of Layyah, 400 bales of Lodhran, 200 bales of Peer Mahal, 400 bales of Burewala, 400 bales of Shadan Lund and 400 bales of Mureed Wala were sold at Rs 18,200 per maund.
The Spot Rate remained unchanged at Rs 17,800 per maund.
