ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office (FO) on Thursday announced that high-level trade talks between Pakistan and the United States are under way in Washington, D.C., where officials from both countries are holding a two-day session on Thursday and Friday to negotiate the proposed Agreement on Reciprocal Trade.
The Pakistani delegation has been led by Federal Secretary for Commerce Jawad Paul. The negotiating team includes Additional Secretary (ACDIS) and FO spokesperson Tahir Andrabi, Secretary for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OPHRD) Nadeem Chaudhary, and Joint Secretary for Tariff Policy Ashfaq Khan.

To ensure comprehensive institutional representation, senior officials from relevant ministries and departments in Pakistan are also participating in the bilateral discussions through a virtual platform, according to the Foreign Office.
The talks are aimed at finalising a framework for reciprocal market access, investment cooperation, and tariff adjustments between the two countries.
