LAHORE: The local cotton market on Tuesday remained steady and the trading volume remained satisfactory.

Cotton analyst Naseem Usman told Business Recorder that the rate of cotton in Sindh is in between Rs17,400 to Rs 17,500 per maund ,while Phutti in the province is trading between Rs8,000 to Rs 8,500 per 40 kilograms. In Punjab, cotton rates stand between Rs17, 800 to Rs 18, 000 per maund, with Phutti fetching between Rs 8,200 to Rs 8,800 per 40 kilograms.

4000 bales of Tando Adam, 2400 bales of Sanghar were sold in between Rs 17,200 to Rs 17,400 per maund, 1600 bales of Shahdad Pur were sold in between Rs 17,300 to Rs 17, 400 per maund, 400 bales of Shah Pur Chakar, 400 bales of Mir Pur Khas were sold at Rs 17,300 per maund, 600 bales of Hyderabad were sold at Rs 17,200 to Rs 17,400 per maund, 600 bales of Nauabad were sold in between Rs 17,350 to Rs 17,400 per maund, 600 bales of Chichawatni were sold in between Rs 17,700 to Rs 17,800 per maund, 600 bales of Burewala were sold in between Rs 17, 650 to Rs 17,900 per maund and 200 bales of Fazil Pur were sold at Rs 18,000 per maund.

The Spot Rate remained unchanged at Rs 17, 500 per maund.
