Six 'Fitna al Hindustan' terrorists killed in Panjgur IBO: ISPR

  • Says sanitisation operations being conducted to eliminate any remaining terrorists

Security forces eliminated six foreign-sponsored terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted in Balochistan’s Panjgur district on the night between June 3 and 4, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

According to the military’s media wing, the operation was launched following intelligence reports regarding the presence of terrorists belonging to the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) aka ‘Fitna al Hindustan’, an Indian proxy.

During the operation, security forces effectively engaged multiple terrorist hideouts. After an intense exchange of fire, six Indian-sponsored terrorists were killed, the ISPR said.

The security forces said they also recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and a vehicle from the possession of the deceased terrorists. The ISPR added that the killed individuals had been actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.

“Sanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the vicinity,” it maintained.

The military’s media wing reaffirmed that the relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision “Azm-e-Istehkam”—as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan—will continue at full pace by the security forces and law enforcement agencies to completely eradicate the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces for killing six terrorists of in Panjgur, the PM Office said.

“Security forces sent the Indian-backed terrorists, who were harming the lives and property of innocent and unarmed Pakistani citizens, to hell,” the prime minister said.

The government of Pakistan is committed to the complete eradication of terrorism from the country, he said.

Pakistan has witnessed a rise in militant attacks in recent years, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, prompting intensified intelligence-based operations by security forces.

A day ago, the ISPR reported that security forces killed four terrorists in two separate IBOs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the night between June 3 and 4.

“An IBO was conducted in Dera Ismail Khan district after reports of the presence of terrorists.

“During the operation, security forces engaged the suspected hideout, triggering an intense exchange of fire that resulted in the killing of two terrorists,” it said.

In a separate intelligence-based operation in Mohmand district, the ISPR said, security forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ location and killed two more suspects.

The military said weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorists, who were allegedly involved in multiple terrorist activities in the area.
