Indian efforts to isolate Pakistan have failed: report

DOHA: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decade-long campaign to isolate Pakistan internationally has largely failed, according to Arab media.

A report of Al Jazeera highlighted that since Modi’s 2016 announcement, Pakistan has maintained active diplomatic ties simultaneously with Washington, Beijing, Tehran, and Riyadh, establishing itself as a key regional actor.

During the 2025 Pakistan-India tensions, Pakistan reportedly gained the upper hand in the global narrative, with the international community not accepting India’s unsubstantiated claims regarding the Pahalgam incident.

While India faced criticism domestically, US President Donald Trump described Pakistan’s military leadership as an “extraordinary personality.”

The report noted that Pakistan’s “unbreakable partnership” with China has created a new regional reality, while relations with Bangladesh have significantly improved following the end of Sheikh Hasina’s tenure.

Arab media also highlighted Pakistan’s emerging role as a security partner for Gulf countries, contrasting it with Modi’s domestic policies, which have reportedly damaged India’s international reputation.

Furthermore, Pakistan has attracted US attention through its strategic use of minerals, investments, and diplomacy. Trump, according to the report, claimed credit for Pakistan-India ceasefires, while India repeatedly denied his role, creating tensions between Washington and New Delhi over the issue.
