PESHAWAR: The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa carried out a special operation against property tax defaulters in Peshawar, while measures are also being undertaken to facilitate the industrial community and promptly resolve their taxation-related issues.

According to a spokesman of the department, special recovery operations against major tax defaulters were carried out under the supervision of Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO-VI) Peshawar, Aijaz Anwar. During the operations, several tax defaulting units in the city were sealed, while final notices were issued to various banks and other defaulting units for recovery of outstanding tax liabilities.

Similarly, under the supervision of Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO-II) Peshawar, Tauseef Khan, and led by Assistant Excise and Taxation Officers Nasir Mehmood Khan and Zar Ali Khan, a special campaign against major property tax defaulters also remained underway. Legal action was initiated against several defaulters who failed to clear their outstanding dues despite repeated notices, resulting in the sealing of multiple tax defaulting units. The Excise Department has advised all property owners to ensure timely payment of their property tax liabilities in order to avoid legal action and inconvenience.

Furthermore, under the supervision of Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO-III) Peshawar, Zahid Iqbal Khan, an important meeting was held between departmental officers and representatives of the industrial community to address industrial concerns and taxation-related complaints on a priority basis. The meeting was attended by President Industrial Association Ayub Zakori, Senior Vice President Haris Mufti, and other relevant officials.

During the meeting, industrialists presented their issues and complaints directly before the concerned officers. Immediate action was taken on the spot, resulting in the resolution of approximately 15 cases, which was appreciated by the industrial community. The participants expressed satisfaction over the department’s prompt response and facilitation measures.

The Excise Department also provided “PT-10” challans to industrialists to facilitate the timely completion of relevant legal and taxation matters.

The meeting reiterated the commitment that all matters between the Excise Department and the industrial community would continue to be resolved through mutual understanding and cooperation.
