FAISALABAD: Rwanda High Commissioner to Pakistan Harerimana Fatou said Rwanda-Pakistan collaboration particularly in the field of agriculture would help benefit from each other experiences and address food security.
She visited the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) and called on UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ali and all Deans and Directors at Syndicate Room.
During the discussion both sides explored potential avenues of collaboration in education, research and particularly the agriculture sector. They agreed to enhance institutional linkages and work together on future initiatives aimed at academic excellence and agricultural development.
Harerimana Fatou said that “agriculture remains a vital sector for Rwanda, with nearly 65 percent of our population engaged in it. She said the expertise of UAF holds great value for us.” She said that with student and faculty exchange programs, as well as technology transfer, we can build meaningful partnerships that will contribute to sustainable agricultural development and mutual growth.
Dr Zulfiqar Ali said that this visit marks an important step toward strengthening academic and research collaboration. He noted that “we are committed to promote exchange programs for students and faculty to share knowledge and agricultural innovations.” He added that UAF stands ready to support Rwanda by offering expertise and facilitating the transfer of modern farming technologies. He said “we believe that such partnerships will not only enhance food security but also foster long-term cooperation and development between our two nations.”
She also visited the Pak Korea Nutrition Centre, Centre for Advanced Studies, Expo Centre and Solar Park.
