LAHORE: Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has said that the rulers brought through Form-47 have no concern for the people, adding they have prioritized luxury spending while burdening citizens with rising fuel prices.

Addressing a ceremony in Lahore held in honor of female teachers who completed a Quran course, he said that the ruling elite is disconnected from public issues because they came to power through rigging, pushing the country deeper into crises. He criticized recent expenditures, saying that while expensive vehicles and aircraft are being purchased for rulers, the public is being hit with soaring petroleum prices.

He further stated that the United States and Israel represent “taghut” (forces of oppression), adding that sectarian divisions between Shia and Sunni Muslims are being fueled by their agents to weaken the Muslim world. He warned that promoting sectarianism under current global conditions would only serve the interests of hostile forces.

Rehman said that the United States, in alliance with Israel, had attacked Iran, adding that even American citizens were unclear about the objectives of such actions. He said global oppression was being driven by Zionist influence and stressed the need for unity among Muslim nations to counter these challenges.

The JI chief reiterated that Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan seeks to come to power through public support rather than backing from any establishment, urging citizens to make a decisive choice against what he termed unjust rulers.

Emphasizing the importance of religion in governance, he said that separating Islam from politics and the state serves the agenda of oppressive forces. He called for implementing Quranic principles in both individual and collective life, stating that true transformation in society can only be achieved through adherence to Islamic teachings.

Highlighting the significance of Ramazan, he described it as the month of the Quran and a time for spiritual renewal, urging greater efforts to spread its message, particularly among women, to bring about meaningful change in society.

The event was also addressed by women leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami, while a presentation was delivered by the Tarbiyah Academy. JI women chapter organised the ceremony.
