Pakistan’s electric vehicle (EV) segment has gained a new entrant as Nora EV has officially launched in the local market with a starting price of Rs1.889 million.

According to details on the Nora EV website, the vehicle has been introduced in three variants, targeting buyers seeking relatively lower-cost EVs. The Eco variant is priced at Rs1,889,000, while the Eco+ variant costs Rs2,099,000. The top-tier EcoX variant will be available for Rs2,299,000.

As per the company, this is “Pakistanʼs first EV that lets you swap batteries and power up in seconds”.

The Nora EV is a compact four-seater electric vehicle designed primarily for urban commuting. The vehicle measures 2900mm in length, 1450mm in width, and 1600mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1900mm and ground clearance of 160mm.

The EV is powered by a 3000W electric motor paired with a 72V-120 Ah battery pack, offering a charging time of 6–8 hours using an external charger. The vehicle offers a maximum speed of around 65km per hour and can climb slopes of up to 15%.

The EV rides on 12-inch aluminium alloy wheels with 145-70-12 tyres. The suspension system features front and rear bridge bracket suspension with telescopic damping shock absorption, while braking is handled by four-wheel disc brakes.

Depending on the variant, the Nora EV offers a driving range of up to 120km, while EcoX offers a range of 160km. It also includes a range extender that can push the range to around 300km.

The vehicle includes a 7-inch high-definition reversing camera with Bluetooth multimedia, touch alarm, double door central control, electronic lock for theft control, front power windows, air-conditioning and heater.

The EV has a loading capacity of four passengers and is built with a one-piece stamped body mounted on a fully welded square-tube chassis with anti-corrosion treatment.

Eco and Eco+ are available in three colours, while the high-end EcoX is available in 15 colours, plus a special colour.

The launch comes at a time when interest in EVs is gradually rising in Pakistan, driven by persistently high fuel prices and growing awareness around environmentally friendly transportation.

The introduction of the Nora EV adds to the expanding lineup of electric mobility options in the country, which is traditionally dominated by petrol-powered cars.

The 15 % climbing angle is extremely poor, additionally the wheel base is very low, technically overall Pakistan urban rural roads are extremely bumpy with the exception of Islamabad and Lahore
