SECP introduces draft amendments to Companies Regulations, 2024
ISLAMABAD: The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has empowered the Registrar of Companies (ROCs) to assign any of the duties under the Companies Act to his subordinate officials.
The SECP has issued SRO 57(I)/2026 to introduce draft amendments to the Companies Regulations, 2024 here on Tuesday.
Under the new regulations, the Registrar of Companies, with approval of Concerned Divisional Head and Concerned Commissioner, may assign any of the duties under the Companies Act, the rules or regulations made thereunder to the subordinate officers.
The Registrar of Companies may issue directions to the registrar concerned or officials subordinate to the registrar concerned in such manner as it or he may think fit. These officials shall follow and observe the orders and instructions of the Registrar of Companies, with approval of concerned divisional head and concerned commissioner.
Registrar of Companies can issue directions to any additional registrar, joint registrar, additional joint registrar, deputy registrar, assistant registrar or other officer, where such officers have been appointed in a particular Company Registration Office, and other officials of the Company Registration Offices as he may think fit and they shall follow and observe the orders and instructions of the registrar concerned, the SECP added.
