LAHORE: Marking a decisive step towards institutional reform and accelerated development, Secretary Auqaf Punjab, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta has said that a comprehensive action plan has been finalized to ensure rapid departmental development, and the Auqaf Administration is fully mobilized to achieve tangible and sustainable results.

While chairing a meeting here on Thursday Dr. Ehsan Bhutta emphasized that, the Auqaf Organization is determined to set new records of progress, transparency, and efficiency. He further informed that, following the directions of the Chief Secretary Punjab, the E-Filing and Office Automation System will be implemented strictly within the approved timeline. He reiterated that strengthening governance and safeguarding Waqf assets are among the top priorities of the Government of Punjab.

The Secretary highlighted that while revenue enhancement remains a key focus, unnecessary expenditures are being strictly regulated. He noted that the Auqaf Department is paying special attention to the renovation and beautification of shrines, along with the development of commercial projects aimed at generating sustainable revenue for the organization.

During the meeting, a detailed review was conducted of Auqaf commercial schemes, digitization of Waqf land, implementation status of E-FOAS and HRMIS, and the monthly performance targets assigned to field officers.

Dr. Ehsan Bhutta commended field officers who demonstrated outstanding performance, while making it clear that no leniency will be shown towards those failing to meet prescribed standards. He warned that immediate disciplinary action will be taken against officers who do not achieve their assigned targets within the stipulated timeframe.He also issued clear and firm directives to concerned officers for the timely preparation of commercial schemes and the swift resolution of operational challenges. Stressing proactive field engagement, he directed officers to ensure effective protection of Waqf properties and to make commercial schemes highly profitable and result-oriented.
