Security forces neutralise four terrorists in Kalat operation

  • President Zardari, PM Shehbaz laud security forces for successful IBO
Published Updated

Security forces killed four terrorists associated with the Indian-sponsored “Fitna al-Hindustan” during a targeted intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Kalat district, the military’s media wing confirmed on Sunday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted on December 27, following reports of terrorists’ presence in the area. During the engagement, Pakistani troops successfully traced and engaged the terrorists’ position. After an intense exchange of fire, four militants were eliminated, the ISPR said.

A significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the neutralised terrorists, the ISPR stated, adding that the terrorists had been actively involved in multiple terrorist activities across the region, targeting both security personnel and infrastructure.

“A sanitisation operation is currently underway to ensure the area is cleared of any remaining threats,” it said. The military reaffirmed its commitment to the “Azm-e-Istehkam” vision—approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan—vowing to continue the relentless campaign against foreign-supported terrorism until the menace is entirely eradicated from the country.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif lauded the security forces for conducting a successful IBO against terrorists in Balochistan.

The president praised the professional excellence of the forces in effectively targeting terrorist hideouts and neutralising four Indian-sponsored militants. He reaffirmed that the war against terrorism fuelled by foreign interference will continue unabated.

In a separate statement, PM Shehbaz lauded the forces for neutralising four terrorists, noting that security forces are achieving significant successes in the fight against terrorism. He emphasised that the entire nation stands in solidarity with the Armed Forces of Pakistan in this conflict.

The premier reaffirmed the government’s commitment to cleansing the country of all forms of terrorism.
