NIC Karachi, WE Asia sign MoU to boost visibility of women entrepreneurs

  • Under the agreement, WE Asia will serve as the storytelling partner, producing podcasts, interviews, and visual features on women founders from NIC Karachi

The National Incubation Center Karachi (NIC Karachi) has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with Women Entrepreneurs of Asia (WE Asia) to enhance visibility and recognition for women-led startups in Pakistan’s tech ecosystem.

Under the partnership, WE Asia will act as NIC Karachi’s storytelling partner, producing podcasts, interviews, and visual narratives that document the journeys of women founders incubated or graduated from the centre.

The collaboration aims to bridge the visibility gap faced by female entrepreneurs and promote their success stories across regional platforms.

The initiative focuses on highlighting the resilience, innovation, and impact of Pakistani women entrepreneurs, helping position their work before a wider Asian audience and contributing to a more diverse and representative digital economy.

Rs230bn financing for female entrepreneurs shatters SBP targets

Speaking exclusively to Business Recorder, Syed Azfar Hussain of NIC Karachi said the centre,  the largest in the country, is committed not only to promoting women-led businesses but also to aligning ecosystem partners to support female founders nationwide.

He added that WE Asia, a platform dedicated to showcasing the achievements and challenges of women entrepreneurs across Asia, will help spotlight NIC Karachi’s women founders as models of excellence and long-term impact.

“This partnership allows us to bring the stories of our women founders to the forefront,” he noted, adding that WE Asia will help spotlight NIC Karachi’s entrepreneurs as “examples of excellence, resilience, and long-term impact.”

WE Asia features stories of women entrepreneurs from home-based ventures to high-growth startups and aligns with the UN’s SDG 5 on gender equality.
