ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly condemned the provocative and baseless statement made by Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar regarding Pakistan’s state institutions.

Jaishankar alleged that India’s core challenges with its neighbouring country stemmed directly from Pakistan’s armed forces.

Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andarabi strongly condemned these remarks saying that Pakistan ‘categorically rejects and denounces this irresponsible and misleading claim’ made by Indian minister. He stressed that Pakistan is a responsible state and all its institutions, including the armed forces, are pillars of national security committed to safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The spokesperson said the conflict of May 2025 demonstrated the professional capability and firm resolve of Pakistan’s armed forces to defend the homeland, adding that no propaganda campaign can alter this fact.

He maintained that India’s attempts to defame Pakistan’s institutions and leadership are part of a deliberate propaganda strategy aimed at diverting attention from New Delhi’s destabilising actions in the region and its alleged sponsorship of terrorism in Pakistan.

FO added that such provocative rhetoric reflects India’s lack of seriousness towards regional peace and stability.

Andarabi further stated that instead of levelling baseless accusations against Pakistan’s forces, India should investigate the rise of Hindutva ideology, which has led to mob lynchings, extra-judicial killings, arbitrary arrests, and the demolition of places of worship.

The spokesman maintained that India along with its leadership has become hostages to extremism in the name of religion. FO spokesperson said that Pakistan believes in peaceful coexistence, dialogue and diplomacy, but remains united and determined to protect its national interests and sovereignty.
