ISLAMABAD: Security forces have killed 20 terrorists belonging to the Indian-sponsored group Fitna-al-Khawarij in two intelligence-based operations conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on November 8 and 9.
According to the ISPR, the first operation was carried out in the general area of Shawal, North Waziristan District, following confirmed intelligence reports about the presence of militants. Troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ positions, killing eight members of the Indian-backed network.
In a separate engagement in Dara Adam Khel District, security forces launched another intelligence-driven operation. After an intense exchange of fire, 12 more terrorists were neutralised, the military’s media wing said.
The statement added that sanitization operations are continuing to trace and eliminate any remaining militants in the region. These actions form part of Pakistan’s ongoing counter-terrorism campaign Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.
“Security forces and law enforcement agencies remain fully committed to wiping out the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism and ensuring lasting peace across the country,” the ISPR reaffirmed.
